The Future of Satellite IIoT is Here
The latest monumental breakthrough in wireless IIoT has arrived.
Starnote is a cost-effective satellite module with bundled data and transparent pricing (no monthly active device fees, and no monthly minimum) that utilizes the same streamlined developer experience as the Notecard.
The Notecard is a wireless connected device offered in a full spectrum of radio access technologies. It captures product data and transmits it to Notehub, which can then be sent to the cloud and packaged into valuable service offerings.
Starnote is deployed in combination with any Notecard, enabling you to embed dual connectivity with backup satellite communications into your new or existing solutions far faster and cheaper than other options on the market.
Faster Deployment, Lower Costs
Experience the Starnote Advantage
Fast-Track Your Time to Market
Pre-provisioned satellite connectivity, effortless data routing, low code technology, and unmatched JSON API reduce your time to market from years to months.
Harmonized Wireless Architecture
Unify your connected solutions across Cellular, Wi-Fi, and Satellite with minimal hardware or software design modifications when moving between them.
Integrated Data Package
Each Starnote device includes 18KB of data, which is enough to transmit a 50-byte message once a day for about a year, ensuring predictable hardware and service costs.*
Backup Connectivity
Starnote works in partnership with any Cellular, Cell+WiFi, or WiFi Notecard to provide backup connectivity that automatically fails over when the Notecard’s network coverage is disrupted.
Cost-Effective Hardware
At just $49, Starnote is a cost-effective way to add backup satellite connectivity to your Notecard-based solution.
No Per Device Subscription Fees… Ever
The only satellite offering without a monthly fee for each active device.

Satellite Coverage Provided by Skylo
Starnote’s satellite coverage is powered by Skylo, a leading non-terrestrial network provider that offers 3GPP Rel-17 connectivity. Skylo’s network currently covers 15.3 million square miles including the United States, Canada, Western Europe and other select areas. Their ambitious roadmap includes expanded coverage. Curious if your deployment will have coverage?
Tailormade for Global Industries
There’s no limit to what you can build with Starnote, but here are a few industries ideally suited to integrate Starnote into their products:
Nearshore Marine Telemetrics*
Pair any Notecard with Starnote for cost-effective, high-frequency near-shore cellular, LoRa, or Wi-Fi connectivity while ensuring continuous nearshore coverage.
Use Cases:
- Asset Tracking: Monitor shipping containers, locate lost or stolen vehicles, and improve logistics.
- Oceanic Data: Collect data on weather, currents, temperature pressure, and more to gain a better understanding of the ocean.
- Maritime Management: Warn vessels of emergency situations, inclement weather, and more.
Oil & Gas*
Persistent connectivity for nearshore oil rigs, remote wells, and mobile assets by leveraging the robust connectivity provided by Starnote and Notecard.
Use Cases:
- Pinpoint Asset Tracking: Track oil assets and critical equipment anywhere with our multi-source device tracking.
- Unprecedented Oil Rig Data: Gain real-time insight into your oil rigs and equipment through predictive maintenance and remote condition monitoring.

The First Fully Harmonized Wireless Ecosystem
Wireless connectivity doesn’t have to be a 1-way door.
At Blues, we believe that connected product developers should have the freedom to move between any radio access technology at any point in the product lifecycle.
With the launch of Starnote, we’ve accomplished just that.
We’ve built the first harmonized wireless ecosystem that covers all 4 major radio access technologies, from cellular to Wi-Fi, LoRa, and Satellite —all that utilize the same set of APIs, hardware design, and software architecture.
An Integrated Module for Satellite Backup Connectivity
JSON-based API for configuration from and communication with the Notecard
M.2 Key E connector for board-to-board usage and a six-pin JST for wire-to-board applications
Available with onboard satellite and GPS antennas or external via u.FL connectors
NTN-capable satellite modem with zero-touch configuration
Includes coverage and data from Skylo with no fees or monthly minimums
