What is Vibe Coding?

"The hottest new programming language is English."
— Andrej Karpathy, coiner of the term "vibe coding"

Recent advancements in AI have made it possible to build applications by simply describing them in natural language, no traditional coding required. This approach, known as vibe coding, lets developers create functional dashboards, charts, maps, and more by working directly with an AI agent.

Karpathy, the coder who coined the term, describes vibe coding as “giving into the vibes,” embracing the exponential capabilities of AI and forgetting about the intricacies of traditional coding. When you vibe code, you communicate your vision for a project, and the AI generates the code for you. This is a huge shift from traditional programming, where developers must know coding languages and syntax to write code.

Why You Should Adopt Vibe Coding

Vibe coding is not just a fad; it's a legitimate method that many developers are beginning to adopt. The ability to build applications by simply describing functionalities is transforming how we approach software development. As the tools improve, the accuracy and reliability of AI-generated code are expected to increase, making vibe coding a viable option for many developer.

Vibe Coding in Action

Let’s be real: as experienced developers, we were skeptical. Could vibe coding actually produce something useful? Then we tried it, and what we built blew us away.

In this webinar, the Blues Developer Relations team created an entire cloud dashboard from scratch and deployed it to a web host by vibe coding, all in real-time.

Catch up on the recording to discover:

  1. The best AI tools for vibe coding applications

  2. How to integrate Notehub APIs and Blues Notecard with LLMs

  3. Pro tips for optimizing your workflow

  4. A complete, deployed application built without writing a single line of code

Learn how to leverage the best of AI tooling and use "vibe coding" techniques to build out robust cloud dashboards for your IoT data.
