About the Role:
Blues is an award-winning, innovative, and fast-growing IoT company. We are looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) who is excited to help shape the future of connected devices, edge computing, and IoT infrastructure.
This is not just a meeting-booking role. You will play a critical part in fueling Blues' growth by sparking meaningful conversations, uncovering genuine opportunities, and building a high-quality pipeline for our Inside Sales and Enterprise Sales teams. You will engage with engineers, product leaders, and innovators across industrial, smart city, energy, and startup segments, helping them connect their challenges to Blues' solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate high-value conversations with ICP accounts through cold calls, personalized emails, and LinkedIn outreach
- Use insights and technical understanding to connect real customer challenges to Blues' solutions
- Qualify leads using clear frameworks (BANT, MEDDICC-light) before handoff to Inside Sales and Enterprise Sales
- Research and identify target accounts and personas using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, 6sense, and CRM data
- Use multi-touch outreach cadences in tools like Salesloft and HubSpot to execute campaigns efficiently
- Collaborate closely with Marketing to follow up on inbound MQLs within SLA timeframes and refine campaign messaging
- Log activities, meeting notes, and qualification details clearly in Salesforce for smooth AE handoffs
- Leverage Blues’ social proof and real-world use cases to build credibility and trust
- Maintain consistent outreach volume and high-quality conversations aligned with pipeline and revenue goals
- Share insights from prospect conversations to improve GTM alignment and campaign targeting
Requirements:
- 0-2 years in sales development, business development, or customer-facing roles, preferably in technology or IoT
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable making cold calls and building rapport with technical and business stakeholders
- Highly organized and consistent in managing outreach cadences and CRM hygiene
- Experience using CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot) and tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Salesloft is a plus
- Curious and eager to learn about IoT, connectivity, and Blues’ technical value proposition
Nice to Have:
- Experience in IoT, connectivity, or SaaS sales environments
- Familiarity with ICP mapping, prospect research, and outbound campaign execution
- Understanding of modern outbound frameworks like the TACTIC cold call method
- Technical curiosity and ability to understand customer environments and challenges

About the Role
Blues is an award-winning, innovative, and fast-growing IoT company, and we are looking for an energetic, driven Inside Sales Representative to join our Boise-based team. This role is perfect for someone excited to work in a rapidly evolving technology space and who wants to help customers bring their connected product ideas to life.
As part of our inside sales team, you will play a key role in shaping Blues' growth by managing inbound leads, nurturing SMB accounts, driving targeted outbound campaigns, and closing sales tied to key product initiatives. You will engage with customers across industrial manufacturing, smart cities, energy, and startup segments to guide them through their IoT journey while helping Blues accelerate its mission to simplify connectivity for all.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond quickly to inbound leads, providing an outstanding first-touch experience
- Execute targeted outbound prospecting campaigns into priority accounts and industries
- Qualify and nurture leads to advance them through the sales funnel
- Proactively nurture and grow SMB accounts by identifying expansion opportunities and ensuring continued product adoption
- Drive sales of standalone Blues products (for example, Wireless for Opta) during key product campaigns with urgency and impactful campaigns
- Collaborate closely with Marketing to support campaigns, events, and follow-up activities
- Maintain accurate records in our CRM (HubSpot and Salesforce) while managing daily pipeline activities
- Meet and exceed activity, opportunity generation, and revenue targets
- Stay up to date on Blues product capabilities and IoT connectivity trends to communicate value clearly to customers
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in inside sales, sales development, or business development, preferably in a technology or IoT environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts simply
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities
- Comfortable using CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce) and sales productivity software
- Team player who takes initiative while maintaining accountability for individual goals
- Interest in IoT, connectivity, and helping customers deploy impactful solutions
Nice to Have
- Experience in selling or supporting sales within IoT, connectivity, or hardware technology
- Familiarity with nurturing and expanding SMB accounts
- Experience selling hardware or standalone products in targeted campaigns
- Technical curiosity and a willingness to learn about hardware and IoT solutions.
